Biography
Drawing reference from graeco-roman sculpture, European baroque painting and 19th century naturalist, Luke Spencer Sanchez’s weaves together seemingly disparate elements into an otherworldly jungle landscape where the tensions between man and the natural world are lifted and the two can become reconciled.
Luke Sanchez was born in Brooklyn, NY.He received his B.F.A in Painting and Drawing in the spring of 2014. He has received the Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Artist Scholarship as well as the Charley Aberg Travel Grant and the Francis B. Cowan Award in Printmaking. He lives and works in Dallas, Tx.
